Michael Lawrence

Senior Consultant

Michael Lawrence has been involved in education his entire career, spanning multiple contexts that include classroom teaching in urban, suburban, and rural settings as well as curriculum development. He’s also had a 19-year career at Harvard University advising undergraduates and graduate students, as well as faculty in various departments. Also during his time at Harvard, Mike traveled the country talking with students and families from underrepresented backgrounds. In addition to encouraging students to apply to the University, Mike also worked extensively with students and administrators at Harvard to develop programs and curricula to support underrepresented students after they arrived.

Mike received his Bachelor’s Degree from Union College and Master’s degree in the Teaching and Curriculum Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Mike’s interests outside of his career are varied, ranging from a love of travel and exploration (especially on his bicycles!) and brushing up on his foreign language skills to an enormous passion for plants and all things landscape design.
