Joy Rain

Joy Rain is the Chief of Talent and Client Services Officer at IBIS. Over the past ten years, Joy has been the managing principal of her own female and LGBTQ identified business that offered executive coaching and DEI strategy and programs. Prior to launching her own business, Joy was one of the first executives to be part of diversity and inclusion teams for Fortune 100 and 500 organizations, she has been on the ground floor in the DEI industry over the last fifteen years.

As a nationally recognized expert and speaker on diversity and inclusion, bias and privilege, Joy offers key insights in workshops that elevate participant leadership skills, emotional intelligence and provide roadmaps for transformative action. As an executive coach and advisor to Employee Resource Groups and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees, she creates space for organizations to realize the value of DEI. Joy uses her knowledge of storytelling and narratives to inspire clients to realize their own lived experiences of diversity, equity and inclusion which results in each of us being the change we all need.

Joy is also part of the adjunct faculty at Pepperdine University and teaches in the Online Graduate Program including Industrial/Organizational Psychology and is affiliated with the Center for Study of Diversity and Democracy at Northwestern University which offers a Leading for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certificate for business executives. Joy holds a BA in Psychology with a minor in Women Studies from Suffolk University, a MA in Psychology from Boston University, and a M.Ed. in Social Justice Education from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
