Strategic Planning

Setting the strategic direction for diversity efforts is a critically important step in creating a high performance workplace.

The process we recommend is:

  • Forming a Strategic Planning Committee
  • Assessing the present state of the organization and conducting an environmental scan
  • Identifying the most critical issues
  • Creating a vision for the desired future state
  • Developing one year and three year plans with action teams assigned to each major component

We have learned that it is extremely effective to involve employees at several stages so as to benefit from multiple perspectives, minimize resistance and develop a broad base of support. Communication to all employees throughout the process is also a high priority.
